This one is going to please all of India. Google had yesterday unveiled its latest version of Android 4.3 at a Breakfast with Sundar Pichai event and the good news is that the Android 4.3 will now natively support Hindi. Though Hindi is not the only language the Android 4.3 will support, but it will be among the other languages like Afrikaans, Amharic, Arabic, Hebrew, Swahili and Zulu.
Native support means that you don't have to download the language packs for Apps even if you opt for a Hindi only App. The Google's India centric move will not come as a surprise as Android smart phones and tablets are already at the peak in Indian markets. If you remember in March this year Google had released a Hindi input App to let Android users type in Hindi fonts. This App which you can download from Google Play here, can be used as a keyboard extension. Once you have installed this App you can choose the Hindi font for typing out anything from text messages, emails, chats to creating a Hindi word document. However please remember that your phone should be able to read Hindi characters for this App to work.
However with Android 4.3 this input method wont be needed as it will natively support all the above things and more. This also means that publishers can use Hindi language to create Games and Apps.
