The Torrent master, BitTorrent has finally released its Sync software for Android. This App gives you a viable option to the much hyped and used Dropbox but has one ultimate quality > no limit on file size. The beta version has been out there for a while but the stable release will make it easier for users to now sync the files.
The Bitorrent has claimed that the Peer-to-peer (P2P) technology it is using is faster then the cloud based services that the companies like Dropbox etc. offer. The file transfers are encrypted which means that they are safe from prying eyes. The PC version supports the mobile file synchronisation with your Android device and Bittorent has promised a iOS App is on its way.
Brett Nishi, BitTorrent’s director of product management said this about the release :“Sync is a response to what we see as real, fundamental challenges to personal data movement: the limitations on speed, size, space, privacy, and security that come with cloud dependency, BitTorrent Sync is free, unlimited, and secure file-syncing. It’s designed for fast file transfer: between users and machines; between editors and collaborators.”
The PC application can be downloaded from here. The Android App can be downloaded from Google Play here. The Android users can use this App to sync files between their smart phones, tablets and PC and over that Share it with friends. The App also has a feature called SyncArchive which saves the previous versions of the files and can be accessed any time. Of course, really beauty of the system is the AES file encryption and no limits on the file sizes.
